What is a combo product and when should it be used?
While packages enable easy bundling of products and rooms, they display all components as package line items, which can be excessive for things like menus where Breakfast/Dinner/Coffee Break is sufficient (vs. Coffee, biscuits, etc.).
Combo products are a collection of elements sold together that are still considered a product. Importantly, combo products appear in Packages as a single line item, despite being made up of (and priced as) a combination. See a step-by-step walkthrough on how to create a combo product below.
1. From the New Product Screen, click Combo
2. Name your Combo
3. Select a property
4. Click on Save
5. Click on Related
6. Click on New Component
You can also see any packages or bookings a combo product has been added to.
7. Search the product you'd like to add
8. Enter the quantity
9. Click on Save & New
10. Search another product to bundle
11. Click on Save
12. Go back to details to see the pricing information calculated automatically based on the components
Note:
A key difference between a combo product and a package is whether quote line items are created. While the components of a combo product can be modified, once added to the quote, combo products function as a single product with pricing and Pax managed at the quote product level. Packages, on the other hand, are added to quotes with quote package items, which can be modified at this more granular level.
