This article will show you how to….
Search for a contact
Create a new contact
Edit an existing contact
Note the main contact on the account
Always, search for contacts before creating new ones so you don’t inadvertently create duplicate contacts. There are two ways of searching for contacts.
The easiest way to search for anything (account, contact, booking, event) is using the global search bar on the top of your Home screen.
In the search bar, type the name of the contact and ‘enter’. This will search everything, accounts contacts etc.
If you click on the down arrow on the left of the search field, and select ‘Contacts’, it will only search for Contacts.
The 2nd method is sometimes more logical if you know which account the person works for. In this case, you find and open the account first and look there:
Find the account, by searching in the global search field on the Home Page, and open the account.
Click on ‘Related’ and look at ‘Contacts.’
A list of contacts appears; if there are too many contacts to show in this screen, click on ‘View All’ to see the rest of the contacts.
As you receive leads, you will either find the contact already exists in Thynk, or you may need to create a new contact. Thynk will not allow you to save contacts that are not linked to accounts, so you will have to create the account as well if it doesn’t already exist.
Again, similar to keeping accounts updated, it’s important to always keep your contacts up to date.
Always check first if the contact already exists before creating a new one to reduce the chances of adding duplicates!
Always complete as many fields as possible on this contact, because this will help you manage them much better and give them a personalised experience.
If you have personal information (that’s not too personal) you could also add this into Contact Comments to make conversations with them more pleasant.
