🚀 Inquiry Date Range requirements

📄 What’s new?

If related Guest Rooms, Events, or Products have dates outside the Inquiry’s Arrival and Departure dates,
converting the Inquiry to a Booking will adjust the Booking’s dates to the earliest start and latest end date
from the related records.

✨  Why did we do this?

Customers often encountered errors when related items had dates outside the Inquiry’s range. This update
reduces further manual adjustments.

🚀One less step to get to your Booking

📄 What’s new?

  • To make the process more seamless and save Sales Managers a few extra clicks, when converting an Inquiry to a single Booking, you’ll now be taken directly to that Booking.

  • If the inquiry involves multiple properties, the list of related bookings will automatically refresh, eliminating the need for manual page refreshes.

✨  Why did we do this?

This is based on feedback from many of our customers.

Bookings

📄 What’s new?

  • The number of Guests field on the Booking level is no longer required to be filled out by your Sales Managers. If the field is left blank, it will automatically default to 1.

⚠️ Important to know

  • This is not applied by default once you’ve been upgraded. If you are interested in removing the requirement for the number of guests on the Booking level, please reach out to our support team here.

  • Booking Events, Booking Products, Booking Packages, and Guest Rooms can now accommodate a higher guest count than defined on the Booking level. Previously Sales Managers would encounter errors when attempting to do so.

    Example:
  • Your booking is for 10 guests.
  • You can now add a Booking Event for 20 guests.
  • The system allows this, and the Booking Guest Count remains 10.

This ensures flexibility without automatically updating the original guest count.

This will be automatically implemented for all customers.

Enhanced Room Block Manager

🚀 Ability to easily see Available Rooms

💡 What's New?

We are thrilled to now show a full overview of Available Rooms at your Property. This change will be visible for
everyone using the Enhanced Room Block Manager.

🚀 Supporting Multiple Occupancy types

This is only available for customers integrated with Mews

💡 What's New?

We now allow Sales Managers to quote a single room type with different rates based on occupancy type. This
way, in customer facing documents, you can always show multiple prices per occupancy per room type.

🔍 Why This Change?

Mews customers wanted to show different occupancy rates in their documents without hitting Mews limitations
within Thynk.

⚠️ Important to know

Due to Mews limitations, Thynk will only send rooms with the rate of the “primary occupancy” (shown with a star
icon on the RBM). Then, in Mews, a negative/ positive occupancy can be manually set.

Packages & Booking Packages

🚀 Assign Unit Pricing for Event Package Items!

You asked, we listened! Package Items of type Event can now be priced as a per Unit value instead of per guest value

📄 What’s New?

  • Pricing Type Field: On Event Package Items, you’ll find this field with two options to choose from:
    • Per Unit: You’re renting the Ballroom for $500, regardless of the number of guests.
    • Per Guest: You’re renting the Ballroom for  $10 per guest. For 50 guests, the total price would be $500.

  • Accurate price fields: We will have new & updated fields dedicated for Per Unit Pricing and Per Guest Pricing on both the Package and Booking Package level.

    Booking Package Level:

    Package Level:

✨
Why did we do this?

From customer feedback during our Packages Focus Group, we understand that Events are normally priced by a room rental price (unit) rather than per Guest price.

⚠️ Important to Know

  • Supporting Record Types: We only support Per Unit pricing for Event

  • Other Record Types: Will always automatically be set with the Pricing Type Per Guest.

  • Past data: Will all be set with the Pricing Type Per Guest.

  • Discounts:

    • Complimentary Discounts are supported

    • Discounts are not supported with unit pricing. The "Apply Discount" option will be disabled.

For example: You want to provide a 10% discount on your Boardroom Package by 10%, this will not apply to the Function Space with a per unit price of $500. However I can manually adjust the unit price to $450.

  • New fields: to support calculations accurately we have fields dedicated to Per Unit and Per Guest pricing (screenshot above)

  • Mandatory Changes: Existing Price fields on these pages are related to Per Guest Pricing, therefore we renamed these fields to include ‘per Guest’ to reflect their purpose. For example: Unit Price → Unit Price per Guest (in Booking Packages).

  • Documents: will not be updated automatically with the new fields.

👉 What should you do now?

  1. Are you using Managed Pages? Changes are automatic! You’ll see updated layouts and fields immediately. 🎉 View the layout changes here
  2. Are you using Custom Pages? Contact our support team here to update your layouts.
  3. Do you have Documents that need to be updated? While this feature is available for everyone, configuration is required to set up your customer facing documents. Please note, there may be significant delays with the holiday season.

Rate Products

🚀 Take configuration of Rate Products to the next level

💡 What's New?

You can now create Rate Products in Thynk that are included in the Rate Price received from your PMS’s Rate Plan and more! For example, if a Bed and Breakfast rate is $200 per night which includes a $25 Breakfast, Thynk now identifies your Room Rate as $175 + a $25 Breakfast = a Nightly Rate of $200. This ensures clear, transparent pricing for customer documentation, and more as requested during our Rate Products focus group.

🔑 Key Features:

  • Ensure that the Rate price we pull from the PMS Rate Plan is set up as inclusive of Rate Products such as breakfast.
  • Automatically comp breakfast when a room in a breakfast included rate plan is marked complimentary
  • Adjust Room Rate Prices on Bookings confidently and more!

⚠️ Important to Know

  • Create Rate Products only on New Rate Plans Avoid creating or updating Rate Products (e.g., price, applied days, frequency, or product type) on Rate Plans that are linked to active bookings. Why this matters:
    • It prevents mismatched Rate Products where existing Bookings use one set of values/prices, while new Bookings use different ones.
    • It avoids discrepancies where adjustments to active bookings could automatically update to the latest Rate Product version.

  • Updating 'Included in the Rate' & 'Update to Complimentary' If you update existing Rate Products to enable these new checkboxes, the impact is minimal but still worth considering:
    • New bookings will capture these values.
    • Existing bookings will not reflect these changes (unless certain changes are made on the Booking)
    • "Included in the Rate" is to support calculating your Room Rate only in new fields, this won't change any Room Rate or Rate Product values in the fields you use today.
    • "Update to Complimentary" is to support when your Nightly Rate is 0$, that your Rate Product also becomes complimentary.

  • Value sent back to your PMS: Will always be the Rate Price with any Inclusive Rate Products price. For example, If your Room Rate Price is 120 euro including a Rate Product of 20 euro, we will send back a rate price of 120 euro.

  • Optional Use: These changes on Rate Products are optional. For example, if 'Included in Rate' is left unchecked, the Rate Product will always be on top of the Rate Price. This is the current implementation available before this release.
  • Documents: will not be updated automatically with the new fields.

👉 What should you do now?

  1. Already on Managed Layout? Changes are automatic! You’ll see updated layouts and fields immediately. 🎉 View the layout changes here
  2. Using Custom Layouts? Contact our support team here to receive these updates.
  3. Admins: You can now review and configure Rate Products to align with your pricing defined on your PMS and booking needs.
  4. Sales Managers: Connect with your admin to understand how Rate Products are set up in your system for better Booking management.
  5. Do you have Documents that need to be updated? While this feature is available for everyone, configuration is required to set up your customer facing documents. If you would like to use this feature, please reach out to our Product Team here (product@thynk.cloud) and we will notify you of when you can expect the document configuration to be available. Please note, there may be significant delays with the holiday season.

🚀 Rate Code is available

🚀 Clone Sales Program

📄 What’s new?

Now when cloning a Sales Program, all invited contacts are cloned as well, resetting their attended and accepted invitation status.

✨ Why did we do this

This was a big ask from many customers, as we understood re-adding the same guest list was a long process. Now with a simple click all detailed and guest lists are cloned accordingly

👉 What should you do now?

  • If you were using our standard clone button, this will be replaced automatically by our team.

  • If you have a custom clone button, please reach out to our team here who can support switching the button if desired.
