1. See bookings by booking type for the current arrival year

‘Bookings by Type Current Year’ List View

List views are a quick way to pull up lists without having to create reports. Any user can create their own list view.  In a previous lesson we explained about List Views and how to edit them in Thynk. 

If you’d like to see bookings by a specific booking ‘type’ for the current year, you can view them in a List  View we have created.  

Please note, that each property will have their own booking ‘types’, so in this lesson and video, you will see different bookings types than yours.  When you run your list view, your property’s booking types will show. 

Follow these steps to run this specific list view: 

1. At the Home Page, click on the ‘Bookings’ tab.

2. This opens your ‘Recently Viewed’ List View. To change this, click on the down arrow, and you will see the standard list views.  

3. Click on ‘Bookings by Type Current Year’ to run the list. You will see the bookings by booking name alphabetically ordered. You can change the sort by hovering over the field heading on the column you wish to sort, and click on the down arrow. 

4. As in all List Views, to see what filters have been applied, they should be all listed just below the list view name, or click on the filter icon on the top right.  You can also edit any filters.

5. In this case, the filters are: ‘Filter by Owner’ = all bookings, ‘Type’ =   Again, this example does not show your hotel’s booking types, but they will appear here when you run the list view.  ‘Status’ = these booking statuses may not be the same as yours. ‘Arrival Date’ = this year.  

6. The lesson about editing your list views tells you how to make edits but basically, if you want to change any of these filters, click into the filter box and you will see your options. 

7. And as always, you can click into any booking from the list view. If you want to keep your account listing open you can right click on the booking to open in a new tab. 

Best Practices for Bookings by Type Current Year

• List views are really helpful if you want to create simple lists without creating reports. This list view can help you get an understanding of which bookings are arriving this year, of a specific booking type.  

• Any user can create their own list view. If you get stuck, contact your Thynk admin for help.
