  1. What a Room Block Manager is
  2. Breakdown of the Room Block Manager

What is a Room Block Manager?

You can use the 'Room Block Manager' feature to enter the room block for your bookings by room type, rate type and occupancy type. It is a good visual method of adding and adjusting your room blocks.

For properties that have a PMS linked to Thynk this feature can block rooms directly into your PMS.

For properties that don’t have a PMS linked to Thynk, this feature serves as a manual way to track and note room allocations made in the PMS. However, it's crucial to remember that any changes needed require manual adjustments both in Thynk and the PMS.

  1. Dates selection - you can adjust the dates you would like to view on the Room Block Manager. The dates should automatically show the arrival and departure dates noted on the booking.
  2. Toggles - there are 3 standard toggles on the Room Block Manager.
    1. With Tax: You can turn on or off if you want to view the prices with or without tax
    2. Corporate Currency: If you are part of a large organization, and your corporate team uses a different currency than your property currency. You can use this toggle to choose one of the two currencies.
    3. Show Available Rooms: We have two different formats on how we show availability (see below) the toggle can switch between the formats to show or hide ‘Available Rooms’ on the Room Block Manager.
      1. Total Rooms Booked / Total Rooms - (Out of Order) Occupancy %
      2. Available Rooms Total Rooms Booked / Total Rooms - (Out of Order) Occupancy %
  3. Booking Totals - Is a summary / ‘at a glance’ section of your booking totals
  4. Room Type Availability - Shows the availability of all rooms, and breakdown per room type.
  5. Guest Rooms - Here you can add each Room type, Rate and Occupancy type and block the rooms for your booking accordingly.

Best Practices

  1. Ensure to always follow your internal SOPs for guidance when using the Room Block Manager
  2. For properties without a PMS, when manually inputting room blocks, verify the entries for accuracy and consistency between Thynk and the PMS.
