Changing Package Dates on an Existing Booking

You have already created a booking and added the necessary packages, but your client calls you to change the dates on the booking package itself but not the actual booking. Sometimes, they want to shift the package date within the arrival and departure dates they are already holding.


To change the dates on the package, follow these steps: 


  1. Find the booking and open it. 

  2.  On the left side of the booking page, check that the arrival and departure dates include the new date change request on the package.  This is important because if you change the package date to outside the arrival/departure dates, you will get an error message: “Start and end date of package must be within the Booking arrival and departure dates”. 

  3. If the dates aren’t correct, you will need to change the arrival and departure dates on the booking before changing the package dates. (If you need to change the booking’s dates, you must use the ‘Change Dates’ button and not just change it within the booking detail screen).




Make sure the start date occurs before the end date, otherwise, there may be an error in the process.

  1. Once you have confirmed the dates are correct on the booking details.  Look to the right side of the screen in the ‘Related’ tab, move down to the section called ‘Packages’.

  2. Find the package you wish to change the dates, and either click into the package by clicking on the package name, or all the way to the right of the package, click on the down arrow and click on ‘Edit’.

  3. This opens up the ‘Edit Package’  window showing you all the fields.

  4. Enter in the new dates in the Start and End Date fields, and click on ‘Save’.

  5. You will see that the dates have changed on the meeting package.

  6. Scroll down to the other records (e.g. products, and function rooms) that are related to the package. If you see the dates haven’t changed here, click to refresh your browser page. 



Best Practice for Changing Dates on a Package

  • It’s a good idea to first check if the arrival and departure dates on the booking include the new date for this package change.

  • Always be careful if you need to change the dates on the entire booking, you must use the ‘Change Dates’ button.
