November 2022 Product Updates

Packages

Packages provide you the ability to bundle services together to deliver unique and personalized value to your customers. In this release, we delivered some major updates to packages to ensure that they are easy to create and add to quotes. You can read more about packages here and how to add them to quotes here .

Layouts and Visual Changes

  • Previously, the process for adding all components to a package (Combo, Hotel Room, Meeting Room, Other) was the same, despite there being different required information for each type.  We’ve improved the experience of creating packages quicker and easier by ensuring that you will only be prompted to enter the information that is relevant to the component type.   • Once you’ve added components to a package, you will also only see the relevant information when viewing and editing those components. 

  • Previously, combo products could be added to packages, but could not be discounted. Now, when creating packages, admins can check the “Apply Discount” box for combo products and treat combo products the same as other package lines. 

New Guidelines on Modifying Packages

  • As soon as a package has been added to a quote, administrators can no longer add or remove components. This prevents errors where the package was changed after it had been added to a quote. This also prevents errors that may result from cloning a quote where a package has since been changed. 

  • This applies to both standard and custom packages. This means that if you would like to add or remove components to a package that’s already in use, you’ll need to clone the package and modify it from there.  

Adding Packages to Quotes/ Cloning Quotes
  • If packages have a start and end date, and a quote falls outside of these dates, that package cannot be added to the quote. 

  • When packages with meeting rooms are added to quotes, we now add the “Function” field from the Package to the Quote Meeting room. 


Quotes

Quotes (Bookings)  contain details about bookings such as the account information, contact for the booking, guest rooms blocked, function rooms, commissions, packages and more.  Here are some of the latest updates to help you manage your bookings more effectively and efficiently.

  • Once a combo product has been added either to a Package or a Quote/Booking, you can no longer make changes to the combo. This is to ensure that pricing is accurate on all the quotes that contain the combo.

Release Date

  • Previously, hotel rooms could be added to a quote with a release date in the past. The release date is now visible when adding Hotel Rooms via the Group booking or Hotel Rooms tab on the quote and if it is less than today’s date, you will be asked to enter a new release date in the future.


PMS Connectivity

Two-way integrations with PMS   providers ensure that your data is always up-to-date and clean. We include integration with Oracle Opera, Mews and StayNTouch. As you share your feedback, we continue to optimize the experience and take advantage of new features that our partners are releasing on their roadmap.  Here are some of the features we have added to the Thynk platform to create a seamless experience where you can do your work in Thynk and trust that data is flowing with your other systems.

Opera Integration

  • We have added support for  the underscore character has been added to PMS blocks.

Mews Integration

  • We have improved the efficiency and latency of data synchronization to optimize the batches of data between Thynk and Mews.

  • In order to cancel hotel rooms on a quote that have been created in Mews, the Mews State must be changed to ‘Canceled.’ Mews also requires a cancellation reason in order to process the cancellation. To prevent any errors generated from a missing reason, we have clarified the naming of  the required field as “Cancellation Reason” (previously Notes) and ensured that if Mews State is Canceled, a Cancellation Reason is provided.


Scheduler (Function Diary)

The Scheduler is where you can see available function rooms (for all of your properties) along with those that have already been blocked.  You can create and manage events right on the scheduler and change your view to be by day, week, month, or even a custom date range.  

We’ve updated the permissions for the scheduler so that special events are available to users. MYCE Users can create and edit special events and view special event resources, while MYCE Admins can also create and edit resources.
